Concentrate and ask again…

It’s 3am in Highland Park,
and the neighborhood dogs bark.
And the only thing I can think about,
Is the smile on…… and off, in and out.
Please bring rain upon this draught,
and shine light upon the dark.

AS I SEE IT, YES. – 2010 is going to be a great year.

At 11:59pm on New Years Eve, I was at home surrounded by many of my closest friends and quite a few strangers.  The entire top floor of the Red House roared with the last remaining seconds of 2009…
“5…..4….3….2….1….HAPPY NEW YEAR!!”
And all around me couples kissed, friends hugged, music pumped, champagne bubbled, sparklers lit,  joints passed, [...]

Reply hazy, try again: Yams and Gasoline.

It smelled like yams and gasoline,
While driving toward Thankstaking.
My mind is like a spaceship,
And my body a machine.
And these words capture those memories,
in the pixels of your screen.
So tonight let’s go to sleep and dream,
Of yams and gasoline.

Cannot Predict Now: ZOMBIES

Zombies: Our house is crazy for them. Upon moving into the Red House my consciousness has erupted with an awareness of zombies.  It doesn’t help when the rest of the world is eating-up tons of zombie-related media…  Zombies are popular right now! However, the main culprit behind my zombie obsession is a video game called [...]

Outlook goooooood: the Legend of Tuck and Gossamer.

*listening to Nico play “Wet” in the other room*
On January 23rd of this year, I woke up at mijo Art’s place after crashing there the night before.  Art didn’t have to work that day, so we took the train from the Red House (where I currently live) to Union Station to walk around Olvera St. [...]

Outlook not so good.

I went to go see my grandmother today… She is suffering from a stroke two days ago.  I brought my cuz with me, and despite the fun we had on the way, it was hard to be at the convalescent hospital.  I felt like I caught a glimpse of death when I walked into the [...]

It is decidedly so.

A candle’s gift is to flicker and delight,
To be poetry in our eyes at night.
…and so I feel about my  life,
That flickering should serve me right.
Rent is due on Thursday.  This means that Nico and I have already been living together here in the Red House for a month!  It still seems so new and [...]
